Review: Black Keys 2011 album, El Camino

The new Black Keys album, El Camino, is stunningly outstanding. If their Grammy-winning Bothers album can be considered the debut of a new creative epiphany for the Ohio duo, than El Camino should be considered their masterful sophomore album of that same fresh romance explosion of creativity. The album is upbeat, melodic and driven; disco blues-rock. It contains all of the symptoms of a polished pop record with a heavy dash of a , “I don’t have time for regret. Frankly, I don’t give a shit.” attitude. El Camino is cashmere in a second-hand-store with brass knuckles and a broken last cigarette attitude. It makes me want get off the couch and do nothing; to drive my Geo fast and drink my coffee slow.
